Established in 2022 by Paul Muhammad, Soul So Natural Bakehouse is a small baking company based in Tacoma, WA. We specialize in delicious baked goods that are made without artificial and processed ingredients.

We believe that food is more than just sustenance—it’s a reflection of how we live and care for ourselves. We craft every product with love and intention, using only natural, nutrient-dense ingredients like whole wheat.

The Origins Story:

starting from scratch

“Back in the mid 1980’s after reading “How To Eat To Live” by The Honorable Elijah Muhammad and striving to eat in a way that was in harmony with his teachings, the desire was lit to eat more healthy. It was hard to find baked goods made with the particular ingredients that he, The Honorable Elijah Muhammad advised to partake of.

At that point, we began our quest in baking healthy foods. From there I enrolled in the local community college and took up ‘Commercial Baking.’ The baking course was a good experience but it didn’t teach me how to bake the “How To Eat Live” way or even come close to using the ingredients that I learned from Elijah Muhammad’s books.

So, we began to learn on our own about how to use whole wheat flour, brown sugar, other healthy ingredients and methods of food preparation and not to over sweeten our food so sweet that you still taste it the next day as he teaches.

There are many more life giving ways of baking, cooking, preparing food, and even thinking that will help us stay here a little longer in the “How To Eat To Live” teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. This is what we are striving for and offering to you. From our soul to yours.”
